Welcome to Fort Collins!

We are so glad that you will be joining us all for the Peace Corps Family Reunion – Bring Your Piece of the Promise. We understand that your Peace Corps experience, whether a lifetime ago or just yesterday, is likely still one of the most powerful and defining experiences of your life. We also understand that Peace Corps volunteers share not only similar stories, but also a unique culture.

As staying with friends is a large part of that culture, we wanted to support this by offering opportunities for RPCVs to stay with host families. Many of these families will include an RPCV or two and so the sharing of stories and experiences will be familiar. Some of our hosts are Fort Collins community members who simply want to open their homes and offer a welcoming environment to the thousands of RPCVs we hope to have in our city.

Though we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate all RPCVs seeking a homestay, it is our goal to match as many as possible. To help ensure you are able to take advantage of this great opportunity, please apply early, as visitors will be matched on a first come, first served basis.

To ensure that everyone participating in the homestay program, both visiting RPCVs and their hosts, has a pleasant experience we would like to outline some expectations of the program.

Visiting RPCVs
The offer of a place to stay is just that, and should not be interpreted to include more than a space to sleep and keep your things.

The Homestay Committee will connect you with a homestay volunteer. Once a match is made, all specific details of the arrangement need to be worked out between the host and the visitor(s).

Unless offered by a host, it should be assumed pets are not to be brought to the reunion.

All shopping for and preparation of food for the visitor(s) will be the responsibility of the visitor(s) and not of the host, Beet Street or its employees/volunteers.

Transportation to and from events will be the responsibility of the visitor(s) and not of the host, Beet Street or its employees/volunteers.

Hosts
Hosting is a voluntary matter and no monetary compensation should be expected for allowing someone to stay in your home.

The Homestay Committee for the reunion will offer 1-3 choices of RPCV’s it thinks might best fit into the hosting situation. Once a match is made, all specific details of the arrangement need to be worked out between the host and the visitor(s).

If these expectations for a homestay work for you, complete the application available above. We will confirm receipt of your completed application and be in contact with you regarding available hosts.

Celebrating the significant role of Fort Collins & Colorado State University in the development of the Peace Corps.
